Ask AI on Slack
To use Ask AI in Slack, your Slack workspace must be connected to Typo and have the latest permissions enabled.
If Slack is Already Connected
If your Slack workspace is already connected, you'll need to update the app permissions to enable Ask AI.
Before You Begin
Make sure you're logged in to the Typo dashboard in the same browser.
This step must be completed by a Slack Workspace Admin.
Steps
Click the Update Permissions link provided in Typo.
Select your Slack workspace.
Click Allow to authorize the updated permissions.
Once the permissions are updated, Ask AI will be available in your Slack workspace.
Note: To use Ask AI in a private Slack channel, make sure the Typo app has been added to that channel.
If Slack is Not Connected
If you haven't connected Slack yet, follow these steps:
In Typo, go to Settings → Integrations.
Click Connect next to Slack.
Select your Slack workspace.
Click Allow to authorize the required permissions.
Once the authorization is complete, your Slack workspace will be connected to Typo, and you'll be able to use all Slack features, including Ask AI.
Note: Connecting Slack and updating permissions must be done by a Slack Workspace Admin.
Using Ask AI in Private Channels
To use Ask AI in a private Slack channel, make sure the Typo app has been added to that specific channel. Without adding the app, Ask AI won't be able to access or respond in private channels.
